Super Mama

I know it's been awhile since aired my dirty laundry. We had a nice holiday season and I was very busy with my children. I saw a cousin that I haven't seen in a long time and met her cool ass boyfreind. On New Years one of my best friends from Canada came to town and we spent time together going to our old haunts. Jamie was our D.D. We should've sent her flowers like on the commercial but we didn't.(thank you Jam) I don't drink much anymore, not like when I was younger. I don't look down upon it and put others down who do. I never make New Years resolutions but this year I'm going to make it a point to try my best to go by some traditional values of my people that can be a challenge for me.

Be peaceful- it's harder to do especially when someone is trying to call you down in front of the post office or making you the object of their miserable lives. I was told to pray harder for them, which sometimes is the last thing I want to do.
Be kind- this is also a challenge for me because when I feel negative energy from someone it's hard for me to keep my big mouth shut instead I need to show them kindness and hope they will come around and shake off the negativity.
Be moderate, Be humble- for me this goes hand in hand because in our society we are taught to brag about ourselves but I think that the more a person brags and rides the high horse it shows more insecurity and unhappiness.I'm goping to try to keep and open mind about others and be happy for them. I don't need a newspaper article or recognition to know I'm a wonderful mother. All I need is to look at my children and see how happy and healthy they are and am happy. Be moderate in thinking that I'm all that and a bag of chips!
Be courageous- my first step was the decision to go back to school to achieve a degree. I want my daughter's to see how I have worked hard to give them financial stability and to set the example that they can attain this achievement too. I'm lucky that my man, Don works hard and provides well for our family. I'm proud that we don't have to rely on goverment welfare to raise our famliy and getting my degree will help us even more. My man is a wonderful father and partner without his support and the support of my family I couln't even think to try to achieve this degree.
